Remedies for Dog’s Cough

Dog’s cough is an indication of respiratory tract issues or cardiovascular diseases. Coughing is also commonly known as tussis. Basically coughing is a process of cleaning the entry of foreign bodies like microorganisms into the nasal tube, it’s quite often. But in the case of constant coughing needs a special care. Some of the allergens may also tend to cough in dogs. The reasons and causes for a cough may differ yet there are certain remedies prevail for dog’s cough.

Licorice Tea

Add some 1-2 teaspoons of licorice root powder in the boiling water and steep it for 10 minutes, strain and after it comes to room temperature feed your puppy with that licorice tea. You can also add any type of sweetener like honey to it. You can feed this drink regularly before the meals in a quantity of 2 teaspoons.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon helps in treating common cough in dogs. The antibacterial properties of a cinnamon fight against the infections and microorganism causing cough. Add some fine quantity of cinnamon powder in the foods provided to your pet.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oils are the simplest and effective remedies for dog coughs. Through its soothing and cooling effect, it will provide a greater relief from coughs. But be sure to feed a proper quantity of coconut oil to your puppy because its overdose of coconut oil may results various with digestive issues.

Honey

Honey is the best working remedy for a cough in dogs. Its anti-inflammatory and disinfectants will ward off the bacteria and viruses causing cough. Give 2-3 teaspoons of raw honey to your puppy in a day. Also, you can add 2-3 teaspoons of honey in a glass of lemon juice and feed your puppy through it. As lemon juice will boost the immune power of the dog in an effective manner.
